About Barcelona Untold

About Barcelona Untold

We’re Coral and Dorian. We’ve both called Barcelona home for years, and Barcelona Untold is where we share the places, stories, and advice we’d genuinely give to people coming to experience the city.

Not just what makes the standard must-see list, but what is actually worth your time — whether you’re visiting Barcelona for the first time or coming back to discover more.

Meet Coral & Dorian

We bring two different perspectives to the same city — one shaped by years of traveling and discovering Barcelona as an outsider, the other by growing up in Spain and building a life here.

Co-founder & Writer

Dorian

Dorian has called Barcelona home for years and has spent much of his adult life traveling and living abroad. That experience shapes how he approaches the city: not just as someone who lives here, but as someone who understands the questions visitors actually have.

He focuses on practical travel advice, architecture, history, and finding the places that are genuinely worth building into a Barcelona trip.

Co-founder & Writer

Coral

Coral is originally from Bilbao and has made Barcelona home for years. She brings a Spanish perspective to Barcelona Untold, along with the kind of attention to detail that makes the difference between a trip that simply works and one that feels thoughtfully planned.

She focuses on local culture, everyday Barcelona, recommendations, and the details visitors can easily miss when planning from abroad.

Coral also runs Barcelona Unlocked, where she shares her own perspective on the city with a growing community of Barcelona lovers.

Why we built this

Barcelona advice we’d actually give to friends.

Barcelona Untold started because we wanted to create the kind of guide we wished existed when friends asked us where to go, what was worth paying for, and what they could safely skip.

A lot of travel information repeats the same landmarks and the same advice. We want to go a little further — combining the places visitors come to see with the neighborhoods, stories, practical details, and smaller experiences that make a trip feel more personal.

That means being useful rather than exhaustive. We’d rather recommend ten places we believe in than publish a list of fifty just because they exist.

How we choose

Would we recommend it to our own friends or family?

Firsthand whenever possible

We visit, revisit, photograph, and explore the places we write about whenever we can.

Honest recommendations

Popular does not automatically mean worthwhile. If we think something is overrated, inconvenient, or simply not the best use of your time, we’ll say so.

Useful details matter

We care about the questions that affect an actual trip: timing, neighborhoods, transportation, crowds, reservations, and whether something is really worth fitting into your day.

Editorial Principles

How we decide what to recommend.

Every recommendation on Barcelona Untold has to pass one simple test: would we confidently recommend it to our own friends or family visiting Barcelona?

What you’ll find here

✓ Honest recommendations
✓ Practical travel advice
✓ Original photography whenever possible
✓ Local history and cultural context
✓ Regularly updated articles

What you won’t find

✕ Recommendations we wouldn’t make ourselves
✕ Lists created just to rank on Google
✕ Paid opinions presented as unbiased advice
✕ Articles published without careful fact-checking
✕ Clickbait designed to waste your time

Looking Ahead

We’re just getting started.

Barcelona Untold is growing one guide at a time. Our goal is simple: become one of the most useful English-language resources for anyone planning a trip to Barcelona.

Over time, we’ll continue expanding our guides, discovering new places, and creating resources that help travelers experience the city with more confidence and less guesswork.

If our work helps you have a better trip to Barcelona, then we’ve accomplished exactly what we set out to do.
